About the Fort Mill Post 43
2025 Senior Team

The modern day Post 43 American Legion Baseball program was started in 1980 by the late Bill Banks, who was athletic officer from then until his death in 2020.

The 1980s was a learning and growing period for the Post 43 team as those early years were hard for wins to come by. However, the 1990s were better for the team as they won thier first League title in 1992 under current Francis Marion head baseball coach Art Inabinet. Inabinet would coach two seasons in Fort Mill American Legion baseball before moving on to the college level.

In the late 1990s, the program was coached by then Fort Mill High baseball coach Greg Pendarvis, who guided the program to four League titles in his five years at the helm and the teams first state tournament apperance in 2001.

In 2003, Pendarvis would pass the reigns off to former Nation Ford head baseball coach Dell Corley, who would win two more League titles in his three years giving Post 43 six League titles in an eight year stretch between 1998 and 2005.

After some lean years once Corley moved on, current head coach Tom Skula was hired on in 2013. A former Post 43 player himself, Skula has led Fort Mill Post 43 to new heights during his time as head coach. Post 43 has made the playoffs in each of his years, advanced to (5) State Tournaments and finished second in the state on two occasions. In 2019 Coach Skula guided Fort Mill to its first ever Southeast Regional Tournament in Tampa, Florida. Skula is the Post 43 winningest head coach with more than 150 wins.
